The Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has put on its website the revised curriculums of degree programs. The key words in this official issuance are “sample” and “suggested.” CHED is clear that it is not violating the Constitutional provision on academic freedom for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). HEIs can use the sample or suggested curriculums to guide them in revising their current (or in proposing new) degree programs.

The House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress approved House Bill 5303 on 26 January 2015. The bill was sent to the Senate, which still has to approve its own version of the bill.

The deadline for submitting applications to open private Senior High Schools is 31 August 2015. (Public High Schools were given provisional permits.) These are the two pertinent Department Orders from the Department of Education (DepEd):
Note that DepEd recommends that private high schools offer primarily the Academic, Sports, or Arts & Design Tracks. 5,553 of the 5,899 public Senior High Schools will offer the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL or TVET) track, because most of their students want to find jobs immediately after Grade 12.
